All the friends on-line,

Good evening and good morning!

It is my great pleasure to attend this signing ceremony between the Mammoth Foundation and the Sinai Health System, and to meet all of you online.

Facing the global outbreak of the COVID-19, more and more people realize that the world is becoming a community with a shared future. We must support each other and fight together.

I am very glad to see that the Chinese people and Canadian people are doing so in the spirit of Dr. Norman Bethune.

During China’s most difficult times, the Bethune Medical Development Association of Canada worked together with other local organizations, and donated three ECMO machines along with a lot of personal protective equipment to the front line hospitals in Wuhan.

Today when Canada is still fighting, Mammoth Foundation from China donates the Norman Bethune Huo-Yan Laboratory to Mount Sinai hospital to raise its testing capacity.

Both donations are wonderful stories of our two peoples helping each other in a time of great need. I think these stories will encourage more people to work together for our friendship and cooperation.

Our Consulate General is very pleased that we could do something for the two donations. We will continue to do so.

China has just passed the hard winter of COVID-19, Canada is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. With our joint efforts, we will finally defeat the COVID-19.

To conclude, I wish you success in your future endeavors.

Thank you.
