Consul General Chen Xiaoling met with Premier of Ontario

            On February 4, 2004, Consul General Chen Xiaoling met with Hon. Dalton McGuinty, Premier of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Consul General Chen extended congratulations to Premier McGuinty on his victory in the recent provincial election. She made positive remarks on the friendly relationship between China and the Province of Ontario and pointed out that the recent mutual visits by Chinese Prmier Wen Jiabao and Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien marks a new level of Sino-Canadian cooperation and exchanges and will further promote the bilateral relations between China and Canada, Ontairo in particular. Consul General Chen briefly introduced to Premier some latest figures about the economic and trade exchanges between China and Ontario and promised that as Consul General, she will continue to work closely with Premier and his government to enhance the mutual friendship and cooperation in all areas. 

             Hon. Dalton McGuinty warmly welcomed Consul General Chen and extended his appreciation for China's outstanding achievements and great changes in the past years. He highly endorses China's rapid development and believes it can benefit all the countries in the world. In the meeting, Premier commends the remarkable achievments made by the Chinese communities in Ontario and hopes the friendship between Ontario and China will grow further.
