Hosting the 2010 World Expo will be a major event in the Shanghai's drive to turn itself into an international economic, financial, trade and transportation center. It will certainly help further sharpen the city's comprehensive competitive edge and enhance its exchange and cooperation with other parts of the world. It is estimated that in 2010, more than 140 million Chinese and overseas tourists will visit the city and a record number of 70 million will visit the World Expo.
